ABOUT ME
Hi there! My name is Erin Helgeson.
I have been practicing as an outpatient speech-language pathologist for 7 years. During that time, I have worked with an extraordinary team of speech, physical, and occupational therapists and provided speech therapy services to some amazing clients.

Many of the people I worked with found themselves sitting across the table from me in a treatment room after their lives were completely upended by a stroke or brain injury. They were driven to get better, and they did everything right. They followed doctor’s orders, did their home exercise programs, and attended whatever community support group they could find. But that wasn’t always enough.

While I knew how important those things were in a person’s recovery, I began to notice the many ways that clients, caregivers, and families needed more support to find their way forward. I sought ways to offer that support within the structure of a healthcare organization. I facilitated caregiver support groups, introduced clients to adaptive yoga, guided conversations about grief after stroke, and started a (super fun) support group for young adults with aphasia.

But eventually the healthcare walls couldn’t contain what I knew my clients and their families needed, and I stepped out of that world to create this space for you. I am here, and I can’t wait to meet you.
